On-Page Optimization vs. Off-Page Optimization

What do you think is really effective? On-page or off-page? First of all, on-page optimization is where we do SEO within our website like building links within the content of the website through attaching hyperlinks on the image, keywords or even putting backlinks on the sidebars, etc. On the other hand, off-page optimization is where you build your link outside your website or at the external websites like forums, blogs, etc. But what would be the best out there if you're going to choose one?

off-page optimization is what gets your site out there and PR also makes people see your site and vist it. But i allways use both, ok i use off-page optimization a lot more then i do on-page optimization as with on-page optimization i only place links i have never really taged and titled my images as never saw the point. but i think you should always use both but i think off-page optimization will get you a lot better results then on-page optimization. this is just my point of view some one will come along and say different

Thanks for your opinion Nicky. I use off-page most of the time just to build PR, backlinks and traffic to external sites. On-page is fine because it may reflect the image of my website and if I use off-page without any content on my website, practically useless.

I think both should definitely be used. On-Page Optimization is not too hard to do, so that should be a given.. just research your keywords, and make sure you use them properly throughout the site, make sure your images have ALT text. I would get in the habit of using good On-Page Optimization techniques when coding your website.

Off-Page Optimization is definitely harder, you have to be patient, and persistent. This type of Optimization is what really determines the results, you have to work hard at it.

I usually dont bother much about on page optimization as I'm not good at coding, I usually use WYSIWYG software's for site development or get my sites done by someone else. Its off page optimization that I concentrate more on.

I think both are equal important if you are serious about your site! On-page will helps to get better ranking position when search engine scan your page and picked keywords while Off page will help to jump your rankings and also build backlinks to get PR for your site.

Both are needed when it comes for total Improvement. If On page optimization is done while Off page optimization isn't no use these both work with each other.

I have never heard of off page seo, i have heard of on page seo which i have done then ranked pretty high. Ranking pages from your blog into google is a powerfull way to grow your traffic, and get more money.
