Thread: What's the best way to get content for a site?

The basic answer to this is the more unique content relevant to your niche the better! If your starting a forum up about a particular subject but it look's empty then instead of having hundreds of empty categories why not pay an article writer to create posts about your niche? You could make him two or three accounts and have some fake conversations going to start the flow of your forum.

Also ensure your site has descriptions about the content, If you have a site about picture hosting for example then write 500 words about how your the best picture host and why people should use you, If you can sneak a couple of keyword phrases into the description like "Picture Hosting" and then place those keywords in strong tags then search engines will love your site and you have a much better chance of ranking high for those keywords. However don't over do it ... 50,000 words with 1,000 keywords in bold would be way to over the top and your more than likely to end up on page 500 of Google for trying too hard.

Remember to make good use of the header tags within any content, above your photo hosting description it would be good to place "Photo hosting" in a header one tag as that's the most important keyword on your page.

Other thing which I find really helpful to me is Yahoo Answers.
Suppose you have site on computer hardware, Go to Yahoo answers and browse to computer, hardware category and find what people are asking for?This would give you idea about whats the real time questions comes, write your view about the same in your blog.

For forums it is definitely advisable to get forum posting service. This will get the ball rolling and have unique threads with good number of posts. Constantly working on seo will also help get the forum moving.

The way I get good content for my site, content that is relevant to the topic I'm writing about on my site, is to go to an article directory or my competitor[s] and spin an article from those sites.
As long as it passes copyscape, I'm good.

The best way is to document yourself using Google abuot the subjects you want to post, this way you will have a lot of ides and more ideas come themselves. To take a look in a competitors site it is not a bad idea, as long as spin his article and add something more.

Well I did like your fake conversation idea, would be great to start the flow. Also Yahoo answers would be great as yogeshpatel mentioned. What I feel is a forum with all categories having say 20-25 posts/threads looks active.

Hiring a good forum posting service is hard to do. Most paid forum posters are from India or from another non English speaking country and their posts become more of a pain than doing any good on google. Ive tried this tatic on several of my forums only to have to delete all of the posts since they were hurting me more than helping.

Be like me and take the lazy way out and use a good rewriter program. Yeah I do have to go back and edit a few words here and there, but it takes 2 mins. 100% unique content for free updated daily if you use a good RSS feed.
