Default White Hat, Grey Hat or Black Hat?

Which is your proffered method of improving your websites SERP, in case you don't know the difference I'll explain briefly:

White Hat - Taking time to increase your websites rankings with safe methods
Black Hat - Increasing ranking fast with methods that may lead to blacklisting from search engines
Grey Hat - In between the two, less risky but not as fast

Some Black Hat techniques may include methods as such:

    • Cloaking
    • Doorway Pages
    • Link Farm (Lots of links within selected sites)
    • Keyword Stuffing
    • Invisible/Hidden Text and Content
    • Improper Redirects

You kind of have then, greys when you mix them to try and not get caught out, black is when speed is the essence but you don't care about long term serps because you expect the domain to be blacklisted.

We'll, I am purely a white hat guy. I don't like to use any blackhat or greyhat method because it's too risky for me and I don't like my website to get blacklisted for sure. Just keep your site safe and never use it in an illegal way.

I would vote for White Hat method for getting SE traffic and improving SERPS. Its best suitable for my application and so I find it easy.

I do mainly white hat and a little bit of black hat.
I wouldn't suggest going the complete black hat way because if you get caught you lose everything. If you have some white hat promotion, you can be sure that atleast some amount of money is rolling in.

I have never used black hat methods. Because I'm sure that Google is very good at detecting (And penalizing) the known ones.

I try to use relatively safe yet effective methods (Grey hat/White hat).
