    Default Graphic Cards

A video card, video adapter, graphics-accelerator card, display adapter or graphics card is an expansion card whose function is to generate and output images to a display. Many video cards offer added functions, such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics, video capture, TV-tuner adapter, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 decoding, FireWire, light pen, TV output, or the ability to connect multiple monitors (multi-monitor). Other modern high performance video cards are used for more graphically demanding purposes, such as PC games.

Video hardware can be integrated on the motherboard, often occurring with early machines. In this configuration it is sometimes referred to as a video controller or graphics controller

Which one do you guys have? I have the nVidia GeForce 8800GT. It is really good and gives me solid gaming performance. You?

I have the GeForce 9800 GTX 1GB version. Awesome card, although I haven't been gaming much lately!

That's a real beast at gaming that card. You should utilise it for gaming and only that!

I used to have an ATI but it has a serious bug when playing MKV files, so now I am using a 1gb 9800 GT. Plays MKVs perfectly..

I have an ATI 34XX and have that issue you spoke about with MKVs. Some MKVs play in a green pixelated way. I updated my drivers but could never fix it.

I'm not sure, I've never considered to purchase a Graphic Card on my own. I'm a big fan of games but it's been quite some time since I last played a PC game.

I'm thinking of getting some graphic cards tomorrow because of the bad experience I had today. Any tips on how to chose the best one?
